Protein is king when it comes to cat food. A high-quality animal-based protein is not only one of the most expensive but also one of the most crucial ingredients in your cat's food. As obligate carnivores, cats must eat meat in order to obtain all of their nutritional needs.
For cat food, chicken is often the least expensive and most readily available source of protein, and it appears in just about every brand available today.
While most cats may tolerate chicken, certain cats require cat food without chicken.
I've compiled a list of my top three cat foods sans chicken because of this. Whatever you feed your cat, we have three options for dry food and three options for wet food. Additionally, I made care to include a couple poultry-free options on the list.

Chicken
Chicken is "the clean combination of flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, generated from the parts or complete carcasses of birds or a combination thereof, exclusive of feathers, heads, feet, and guts," according to the AAFCO definition.
Chicken Meal
Chicken flesh, skin, and muscle are heated to a high temperature to remove water and fat and leave behind concentrated protein. This is called a chicken meal. Then it is processed into a meal.
Chicken By-Product
These are additional chicken parts that aren't usually eaten. That doesn't include feathers, but it does include things like the neck, feet, heads, and guts.
Chicken By-Product Meal
These are necks, feet, and other chicken parts that have been rendered to remove the majority of the fat and moisture.
Liver
The ingredient "liver" alone does not identify the species of animal from which it was derived, thus this one is especially crucial to seek for. In other words, the word "liver" could refer to either chicken or turkey liver. We must definitely take this into account while we look for cat food without chicken. Overall, to be safe, you should stay away from the unnamed liver ingredient if you're seeking for cat food without chicken.
